Bristols Schools Camp

Backwater Adventures has been working in partnership with the Bristol Schools Camp for many years, providing an ever increasing range of educational, exciting and challenging 'on-site' activities to visiting schools and other residential groups. Almost all the schools and youth groups that visit the Bristol Schools Camp now participate in one or more of the activities Backwater Adventures provide and this year we have increased the number and quality of the activities on offer as well as simplifying and reducing the cost of the activities.

This year in response to an increasing demand from schools, we have added new activities, have also installed brand new archery and rifle ranges and are planning a new bushcraft / forest school area. As in previous years, our staff hold the appropriate National Governing Body qualifications, have current CRB checks and have years of experience both in the activities they instruct and working with young people of all ages and abilities.

Activities for 2010

2010 sees the launch of two new and exciting activity packages - 'off-site' adventure days and our new water sports package. Adventure days are based in and around areas of outstanding natural beauty such as Dartmoor, the River Dart Estuary and the English Riviera. You will be able to choose from a range of adventure days including climbing, abseiling, coasteering, open canoeing with bushcraft and campcraft skills, walking and navigation and caving.

In response to increasing demand from schools, we have developed an alternative to the water sports package currently on offer. In line with our company ethos, these as well as our other activities will contain both educational and environmental elements but will retain all the fun that we know is so important.
