As we canoe down the river Dart, we show you how to paddle with ease in pairs or solo. We can stop for refreshment if you would like at one of three local pubs, before having a demonstration of traditional fire lighting and a brew. At our wild campsite we help you to build a shelter, and your cook fire using flint and steel. You can optionally try your hand at fishing, rabbit skinning or foraging for wild foods for dinner. The evening is spent nattering round the camp fire, where you might want to carve your own bushcraft spoon, bow and arrows practice air rifle shooting and of course have a beer or two. After a refreshing nights sleep in the trees we will blow the fire alight to cook breakfast, before honing your canoeing skills on your paddle back to civilisation.

The River Wye is one of the most beautiful rivers we paddle, a haven for canoeists and wildlife such as otters, voles, mink, salmon, trout, buzzards, kingfishers, herons, red kites and peregrine falcons. Explore this superb river and approach it's wildlife quietly by open canoe. Our guides will instruct provide canoeing instruction as well as bushcraft skills and point out interesting wildlife. We will use our Canadian Canoes to explore this wonderful estuary, hunting and foraging for Food for Free. The estuary is the perfect place to rely on Mother Nature to provide for your needs, offering Oysters, Mussels and Cockles at low tide, sea bass, delicious Marsh Samphire, wild garlic, sea beet and tasty and nutritious nettles. Cook your feast on an open fire, then sit back and enjoy your meal! At our hidden ?Wild Campsite?, your guides will show you how to pitch your basha and string your Hammock between the trees or even one of our Traditional Single Pole Tepee’s. We will guide you through lighting your cook fire with traditional flint & steel, construct a stone hearth or make a tripod to suspend you billy cans from. Choose from dishes such as shellfish chowder, nettle soup, samphire fried in wild garlic butter and delicious Rabbit Curry served with fresh Bannock. With a little guidance and imagination you too can be the next ‘Riverbank Masterchef’.

Our introductory courses to White Water canoeing are suitable for novices and those with some canoeing experience. This is an intensive course designed to give the candidate the skills to be able to run simple white water rivers as part of an organised group. Day one will be spent learning core canoe skills on flat and gently moving water to allow candidates to progress without the distraction of white water. Day two will start with an introduction to faster moving water and river reading culminating in a river trip on up to grade 2 moving water.
