School Canoe and Bushcraft

Our open canoe, bushcraft and campcraft activities are truly unique and we are the only providers in the region offering this combination of fascinating and educational activities. Designed and run over several years, these sessions, which could be used to deliver part of the National Curriculum are now extremely popular with many of the schools and youth groups that we work with.

Our single day trips are perfect for complete beginners and for year groups with smaller children and include the basics of open canoeing and some introductory bushcraft or campcraft skills. If you are up for the challenge, have some previous experience or have year groups with older children, take part in an overnight trip or on a longer canoeing expedition.

School Canoe and Bushcraft

The natural and semi-wilderness environments we use for our activities provide an excellent setting in which to work and learn together. Away from the classroom, staff are often amazed at the children for their enthusiasm, resourcefulness and ability and willingness to learn. Our instructors are very experienced and are able to run the day according to the pace and abilities of all participants regardless of their experience of ability.

Offered to year 4's and above, the duration, content and learning outcomes of the canoeing and bushcraft sessions will differ slightly and we will discuss this with you before you arrive. Our activity days can be land based, participating only in our bushcraft and campcraft sessions, or combined with a mini open canoe journey, where even the most active children will be entertained by the resident wildlife such as kingfishers, buzzards and seals.
