Residential Courses

Our schools residential are designed for all year groups from year 4 and above and are based at one of many different locations around South Devon. The range of activities we provide are arguable the widest available and are based at completely natural venues such as the Dewerstone, Ansteys Cove and within the Dartmoor National Park. Our instructors are the best in the industry, are all fully qualified in the activities they deliver and all have many years experience working with children from all backgrounds and abilities.

In April 2009, Backwater Adventures became part of Essential Adventure Ltd., bringing together two of the leading companies delivering outdoor adventure activities to schools and youth groups. This has enabled us to extend both the range of activities and the educational and environmental content of our courses to all our current customers.

Residential Courses

Whatever the type of residential you require, from educational to pure fun, we have an activity programme to suit you. No two schools residential programmes we run are the same as we know each will have specific learning requirements, accommodation and activities in mind. That is why we work with you to provide a combination that is unique to you and that you will want to repeat in years to come. During your visit with us, and depending on the age of your pupils, we are able to offer a huge range of activities. Some of the activities available during your school residential are climbing and abseiling, kayaking, raft building, canoeing and bushcraft courses, coasteering, caving and potholing, white water canoe and kayak instruction, moorland walking and navigation and air rifle shooting and archery.
